HEALING

Friday morning 12 September 2003 began just as any other day in my life, up at 5am, a cup of coffee, morning devotions and off to work healthy and strong. 10am that morning it seemed that my world had fallen apart. Suddenly I did not know who I was, where I was or what I was doing there. Marie was fetched to collect me from work and to take me home.

I was taken to the Provincial hospital for a check-up and tests. I was told that my blood pressure had dropped too quickly and this had caused my condition. I was not satisfied with this diagnosis and was taken to a private doctor who referred me back to the Provincial hospital where further tests were done. I was admitted and treated for blood pressure problems.

On discharge I was told I had to see the heart specialist. Marie who had had nursing training was not convinced that I was being treated correctly. She took me to friends who have the gift of healing from God Sitting talking the sister told us that I had a brain tumour. They then anointed me with oil and prayed for me.

My next visit to the specialist proved frustrating because despite telling of my symptoms of headaches and pressure on the head it seemed as if they were not prepared to listen. Eventually, on Marie's insistence I was sent for a brain scan. The scan revealed a lession on the brain resulting in blood on the brain.

Back to hospital for treatment and being allowed to leave hospital for three weeks. I was thrilled by the news that I would be able to attend the "Seed Principle" positive growth course which Jerome was conducting at the Penford Full gospel church in Uitenhage, South Africa.

At one of these sessions Jerome and a pastor from Port Elizabeth anointed me with oil and prayed for me. Back to hospital again with the assurance that Jerome and the seminar group would continue to pray for me.

I was transferred from the Uitenhage Provincial hospital to to the Livingstone hospital in Port Elizabeth, a large city about 30 kilometres away for consultation with the brain specialists.  I was told that I suffered a heart attack and stroke which caused damage to my brain and that I would have to undergo a brain operation and would never be, as they put it, normal again.

I was informed that I would undergo the operation on Friday, 10th October 2003 at 6am. At 5am I was taken for a brain scan and then, back in the ward the specialist again looked at the scan and showed me the blood on my brain and once again told me that I would definitely have to have this operation.

However, when they looked at the new scan there were no traces of brain damage. I was told I could leave the hospital, go home as there was no need for an operation but that I should report back to the provincial hospital in Uitenhage where I stayed for 5 day and then back home, as if nothing had happened.

To God all the praise and thanks indeed my fortress in my time of need, restored health, a second chance to serve Him

Yesterday God walked beside me, today I live in Him and am not troubled by tomorrow for God is already there. I am a chosen vessel for His use.
