How it works
|
It must be the desire of every minister of God to head an assembly that is productive. By that I mean an assembly where all know where they fit into the Body of Christ and are performing their ministry. For example, are they called to the prophetic office (ministry of the word) or the local ministry? Are they using their spiritual gifts to edify the body? Are all the members working together? Chapter 12 of Paul's letter to the church at Corinth contains verses which further clarify what I am alluding to. |
1 Corinthinans 12
18. But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Nay,
much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are
necessary:
23 And
those members of the body,
which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor;
and our uncomely parts have
more abundant comeliness.
25 That
there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same
care one for another.
26 And
whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be
honored, all the members rejoice with
it.
27 Now ye
are the body of Christ, and members in
particular.
28 And God
hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly
teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments,
diversities of tongues.

Well God has set me in offices in the church wherein I stand by His grace. All that I desire to do is His will and to go where He wants me to go and to do what He wants me to do. I desire to please the Lord Jesus Christ for truly He has created me for His pleasure and therewith I am content. Amen. |
Romans 12:4-8
For as we have many members in one body, and all
members have not the same
office:
So we,
being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of
another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace
that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion
of faith;
Or
ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth,
on teaching;
Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.
|
As I understand it there are two distinct ministries |
|
1. The prophetic ministry (apostles, prophets & teachers |
|
2. The local ministry (deacons) |
God desires the body to operate efficiently in love so that each member can be built up and perform their calling in the body. He achieves this through Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Normally I am invited to present the "LIFE IN CHRIST" teaching series as the foundation for growth. It should be noted that those who have attended an Alpha course would increase their spiritual growth greatly by attended this course as it is a natural "follow on" course to Alpha. Leader is recognized at a certain point in the course and these folk are encouraged to pursue their ministries to the glory of God. New cell groups are a normal by-product of the "LIFE IN CHRIST" course. Obviously each new cell group will fall under the authority of the relevant church leaders be it the bishop or pastor and this sets them free to attend to other functions of the ministry which need attention. New converts learn how to witness unto Jesus and therefore more souls are won and the kingdom expands. Whatever the needs are in your congregation please make a diligent search of this site to ascertain how you can possibly be assisted. You may possibly consider a healing campaign or the powerful 'LIFE IN CHRIST" course and thereafter the 'SEED PRINCIPLE" but inquire of the Lord what it is that He desires you to do. Obviously God can and does use other methods from time to time so it is possible that He might impress a healing campaign on your mind or prophetic ministering to your congregation and even music. As we well know a period of waiting on the Lord for His guidance will never go amiss and this is my recommendation to you. Be blessed in Jesus.
